Our Mission

Don't Talk to Strangers!

“Don’t talk to strangers” – how many times did we hear that when we were children? How many times have we said that as parents?

Telling our children not to talk to strangers is how we, as parents, have attempted to articulate our fear that something may happen to them. We often feel helpless because we can’t be with our children at all times to protect them from danger.

When we say “Don’t talk to Strangers,” what we are really trying to tell our children is:

“Don’t get lost”

“Don’t get hurt”

“Don’t get kidnapped”

“Don’t let anything bad happen to you”

We know deep down we can’t be there all of the time. We also know that avoiding strangers isn’t the cure-all to child safety. But, as parents we need to find a way to protect our children from a scary world.

Our purpose is not only to instill an awareness of the dangers our children face in everyday society, but, more importantly to offer useful and practical information to protect them.

Our strategy is to provide the necessary lessons to teach children how to protect themselves, but more importantly, we will share actions that parents can take to minimize their risks. As adults, it is really our responsibility to protect children.

Although not all risks to our children can be avoided, with thought and practice, they can be greatly reduced.
